3 Secrets to Avoid Vets

Many people asked me whether vet bills are an issue for us. They figured that if they spend close to $1000 on vet bills for their one dog, I must be spending a lot more. I seldom have to go to vet in the first place. What's even funny is that my 7-9 yrs old dog are always mistaken for 2-4yrs old dogs by dog owners and by vets themselves!

So the first secret is FRUITS.
Apple, pear, watermelon, melon, banana, carrots(ok carrots are vegetable roots) etc.

Then the second secret is to feed the fruits in the morning and/or before their meal.
If you feed after their meal, the fruits will be in the queue within the digestive tract.
The long waiting time will make the fruits ferment and they lose the nutrients and enzymes before those are absorbed by the body. Hence the dogs may develop bloatedness. To the worst, they may vomit. Not good.

Then the 3rd secret is on how to start giving fruits. In the beginning, do not give everything all at once. Start with one fruit first e.g. banana. Then observe the poo and if there are any vomiting or diarrhoea problems. Diarrhoea and vomiting are symptoms, so it is very important that we know what are the causes of them. Many dog owners love to try feed this and that all at once. A better way is to introduce 1 new food/treats every 3-4 days.

Ok I spilled the beans and vets are gonna lose business if you share this info!
You are gonna save money, time and effort by following this tip and your dog will be healthier and happier:)

  2. I feed my two dogs twice a day. Morning and evening. So if I start them on fruit in the morning does that mean I do not need to feed them again until evening? By the way one of my dog, a maltese is on hypoallergenic food because he is allergic to chicken or any meat and he gets red spots on his body easily. And also both dogs are picky and fussy eaters. I also started them on Silky shampoo about a month ago.

    1. Hi Elaine, we feed fruits in the morning AND feed them the main food at night(7pm). It is not enough to feed just fruits in the morning. As for food allergy or sensitive skin, kindly email us the photos of your dog to silkydogshop@gmail.com

  3. So just to confirm, if I feed fruits for breakfast, I don't need to add in kibbles after the fruits ya? I only need to feed kibbles for dinner time only?

  4. Hi Elaine, we are strongly against Kibbles. Kibbles make the dog sick in 3-5 yrs time. Tumor, diabetes, cataract etc... They have too much preservatives. Please check out our nutrition page too.
To answer your question: we feed only fruits in the morning AND feed them the main food(without fruits) at night(7pm)
