Adoption: Initial Challenges adopting Betsy

I would not lie to you: Adopting a dog is challenging. Sure adopting is usually cheaper and sometimes free of charge rather than buying a puppy from pet shop. But there are more challenges that you have to face. And you have to understand that dogs in their juvenile age (1-5 years old) are like human TEENAGERS!

Adoption: Dogs Deliver Excellent Karma to You

People can't believe it when I said I adopted Betsy, the border collie x corgi, and Miki, the Silky Terrier or Yorkie lookalike. They are often pleasantly surprised by their gentle demeanour and groomed appearance.
I also told them our story of how we won a lucky draw, and how our business flourished after our adoption of the two dogs.

Betsy our second dog in Singapore, adopted from internet forum
After adoption, we won sofa from lucky draw on Straits Times

Miki our third dog in Singapore, adopted from SPCA
After adoption, we perfected our shampoo formula. Our income soared

Nutrition: Dog Food Vs Cooked Human Food

What do you feed your dog? Which brand? Is he a picky eater? These are some of the common questions when dog owners meet each other. Over the years we started out with dog food aka kibbles. But now we avoid dog food for our own dogs. Here's why:

Dog Psychology: Exercise, Harmony and Affection plus Optimism

This post is about the magic formula that Cesar Millan always highlight in his shows: exercise, discipline(harmony) and then affection. I would like to add one more: optimism. Most dog owners love their dogs and showered their dogs with affection. That is nothing wrong with that. I do it too.
But they might be showing the affection at the wrong time or situation. Then their dog misbehave, they get shaken(no harmony), they walk the dog less often (no exercise). Then they lost hope (no optimism).

So how do we build a better relationship with our dogs? Let's examine their needs:

First Post about Dogs

Hi,
This will be the starting point where we share tips and tricks on how to manage our dogs. We started this blog because we are super passionate about our dogs. We want to learn and share with others and select the best practices on how we can live happily with dogs. We would post everything about dogs. Dog training, dog grooming, dog walking, managing dogs at home, managing dogs outside the house, dog nutrition are some of the topics we would be discussing here.

These are tried and tested tips we learn from various sources. And we practice them. So they work....just like our shampoo. We only share what we do.

What we hope to achieve?
We wish that by sharing these tips, dog owners could better manage their dogs and have better relationship with them. We hope that our small actions could lead to a better harmony and better appreciation of dogs. Many times we know of dogs being dumped into shelters, terminated, abused, violated or simply cast aside and forgotten as an old toy...

Isn't it crazy that we have puppy mills(dog farms and even people's houses) producing dogs like factory and then pet shops sprouting everywhere selling these like iPhones, and then people buying on impulse, and then later on dumping dogs cos they can't manage, and then to shelters where they are left to chance to be "recycled" otherwise they get deleted with lethal injection? These are dogs we are talking about, not some gadgets or toys. They have feelings and emotions.

What if our dogs are better behaved? What if our dogs are happier and healthier and therefore do not drain their owners' finances, time and effort too much? What if we treat our dogs better?

These were our dreams and motivations behind our dog shampoo. And we pray that it would materialize more and more.

Our personal experiences teach us that we would be blessed with excellent karma. It appears in terms of material wealth as well as harmony and happiness...things that money can't buy.

Encouraged by the strong demand and testimonials from our fans of our dog shampoo, we wish to plant more seeds of goodness. May they grow!
